Home Base: London
The Store: Established in 1964, this popular fashion chain boasts 309 stores throughout the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland.
The History: Sir Philip Green (the owner of Topshop's parent company), and supermodel Kate Moss met in a restaurant and discovered they had much to talk about: both hailed from the same area of South London; Moss had been a long and loyal Topshop customer and was a fan of the store; and Moss was known for her terrific and unique sense of style. A collaboration on a ready-to-wear collection was a natural fit.
"K" Day: May 1, 2007. So dubbed by the press, it represents the date the line was launched.
Defining Style: Effortlessly cool signature pieces communicating an edgy but playful attitude.
Inspiration: Moss's personal sense of style, culled from a combination of favourite vintage pieces from Moss's wardrobe and those on Moss's wish list of clothes she couldn't necessarily find.
The Look: A lean typically rock silhouette sits next to vintage-inspired, floral-print tea dresses and bohemian embroidered pieces. Denim jeans and hotpants with love-worn vests and tees contrast with shrunken masculine tailoring. Floor-sweeping cocktail dresses provide sophistication.
