Family Ties: A third-generation designer (his father designed leathers and furs; his grandfather high-end lingerie), Paris-born Robin Rotenier comes by his passion for style naturally.
Start-Up Company: Rotenier launched his eponymous collection in 1993 with his drawings of ten cuff link designs, all of which are sold today.
The Goods: Mostly sterling-silver novelty cuff links in a range of whimsical shapes.
The Look: Chic, timeless and versatile, often preppy with a twist but always innovative and high quality.
Attention To Detail: Before the cuff links are finished by hand, Rotenier carves each design out of a block of wax, which is then cast into silver to form the original design prototype. A rubber mold of the prototype is then made and used for production.
Oh Canada: Rotenier designed a pair of sterling-silver, hockey stick cuff links with black onyx pucks exclusively for Holt Renfrew.
